Getting Started with Authorize.net
An Authorize.Net Payment Gateway account provides you with a secure bridge between your MarketingIdeasForPrinters.com website and the credit card processing networks.
In addition to a seamless integration with your MarketingIdeasForPrinters.com website, each Authorize.Net Payment Gateway account includes:
Getting Started
There are two key ingredients that need to be present in order to start accepting credit card payments online. You will need a merchant account for credit card transactions and a Payment Gateway account through Authorize.net. A merchant account allows you to process credit card transactions, and an Authorize.net Payment Gateway account allows those transactions to occur on the Internet. You may already have a merchant account. You'll need to make sure your merchant account is able to process transactions over the Internet (it needs to be able to process "Card Not Present" transactions). If you don't have a merchant account, or if you desire to establish a separate merchant account for web-based transactions, Authorize.Net can help you obtain a merchant account with one of their preferred merchant account partners.

To get started, please start your application for an Authorize.net account by going to the Authorize.net Application Page. The first step will be to establish your account with Authorize.net. Click the Register button upon your first visit to the Authorize.net Application Page.

Create your account by providing your desired login information, then click the Submit button. After clicking the Submit button you will be returned to the login page.

Now that you've created your account and returned to the login page, you may login to begin your application. Login to the system with your newly-created login information.

The Authorize.net website will direct you through the rest of the application process. Please note that during the first step of the application (Step 1: Select Services) you will be asked to provide more details as to the nature of your application, as shown below:

Here is more information to help you understand the questions being asked. The first question is "What is the primary sales channel for your business?" Answer this question with the "Card Not Present - Internet" option. Even though you likely accept Card Present transactions, this question is being asked specifically in relation to your desire to add the ability to accept credit cards online.
The next question, "What services would you like to apply for?" has three options. The first option (Payment Gateway) should be checked. This is the service that allows credit cards to be processed online.
The second option (Internet Merchant Account) should be checked if you do not already have a merchant account that supports "Card Not Present" transactions. If you select this option, Authorize.net will assist you in obtaining a merchant account.
Do not select the third option (Electronic check processing), as your website does not collect checking account information.
Please feel free to explore the options presented in the final question related to value-adding products. Neither are required for a successful implementation on your MarketingIdeasForPrinters.com website.
Continue with your application. After your application has been processed, Authorize.Net will contact you with your account information. Your account information may then be entered in your website's Online Print Center settings. (When logged into your website, go to your Online Print Center and click the Online Print Center Settings link. Enter your information in the Authorize.net Online Payment Settings panel.)
